If it wasn't for Ran, Fern's calm and positive best friend, there'd be nowhere to turn. Ran's mantra, "All will be well," is soothing in a way that nothing else seems to be. And when Ran says it, Fern can almost believe it's true. Pretty Amy by Lisa Burstein
(Amazon | Goodreads)

Release date: May 15th 2012
Amy is fine living in the shadows of beautiful Lila and uber-cool Cassie, because at least she’s somewhat beautiful and uber-cool by association. But when their dates stand them up for prom, and the girls take matters into their own hands—earning them a night in jail outfitted in satin, stilettos, and Spanx—Amy discovers even a prom spent in handcuffs might be better than the humiliating “rehabilitation techniques” now filling up her summer. Worse, with Lila and Cassie parentally banned, Amy feels like she has nothing—like she is nothing.
Navigating unlikely alliances with her new coworker, two very different boys, and possibly even her parents, Amy struggles to decide if it’s worth being a best friend when it makes you a public enemy. Bringing readers along on an often hilarious and heartwarming journey, Amy finds that maybe getting a life only happens once you think your life is over.

Then she meets James at one of their first stops along the river. He and his dad are sailing for the summer and he’s just the distraction Clem needs. Can he break down Clem’s walls and heal her broken heart? 5. I love these posts. It really helps to full up my list of books to start putting on hold at the library, so I can get a chance at reading them -- Clean by Amy Read is AWESOME, by the way. I can't wait to read Second Chance Summer, specifically. Morgan Matson's Amy & Roger's Epic Detour was great, so I bet this will be, too.

  6. I'm so excited about When You Were Mine by Rebecca Serle. I love Romeo and Juliet, but I'd never thought about poor Rosaline, and how she was just discarded. This is great, and as I'm on a contemp binge at the moment that's an added bonus that it's not a historical.

There are so many awesome releases - Being Friends With Boys, Unbreak My Heart, Hourglass, Pretty Amy (great voice!!), Past Perfect, Welcome Caller This is Chloe!!

  11. This list will definitely make me poor! There are a lot of great releases that I've been waiting for. When You Were Mine (This is funny! Romeo and Juliet WITH Rose. Now, it's not just their parents that are getting in between them, there's a best friend too!), Waiting (Just reading the synopsis makes my heart ache. Seriously. I wanted to know what happen to Hope! And with that cover, I'm getting more and more curious), The Summer of No Regrets (I just read your interview with Katherine and it's seriously funny! I can't wait to know Luke), While He Was Away (I've read a book before which contains long-distance relationship with a soldier. What's more painful than that? Other than worrying about your relationship, you gotta worry about your boyfriend's life too. It's seriously sad and painful! ), In Honor (THIS I LOVE BECAUSE IT INCLUDES A ROAD TRIP. I love road trips! I love Saving June!), Second Chance Summer (The premise of the story makes me sad and happy. I love contemporary books especially when it's about family.) , Past Perfect (even though it's just a re-release), and of course, INSURGENT (This is one of the best dystopian novels I've ever read!). I'm also curious about Pretty Amy, First Comes Love and Hooked. I know most of the novels I listed are contemporary! I so love contemporary. It makes me realize a lot of things. I hope I'll be able to buy all these books. I'm sure I'm going to enjoy their stories, love the new characters and learn a lot of new things!
