This or That with Avery Sawyer (Notes to Self Blog Tour)

Today we have Avery Sawyer here for a this or that interview! This post is part of The Teen Book Scene's blog tour for Notes to Self by Avery Sawyer. You can find out all about the tour here. Make sure to visit all the other stops if you'd like to know more about Notes to Self!

Sunrise or sunset?
Sunset. I'm not a morning person.
Half-empty or half-full?
Half-full, though I do have my grumpy days.
Summer or winter?
100% summer. I need to move to a warm climate.
Vanilla or chocolate?
Chocolate, but it's close.
Outdoors or indoors?
Indoors. I'm a coffee shop and Sunday New York Times gal, not a camper.
Cats or dogs?
Cats, but I love both. I grew up with both.
Being in a crowd or being alone?
Being alone.
Being able to change the past or living with your mistakes?
Living with mistakes. Life is too short to keep looking back.
Superpower: invisibility or flying?
Hardcover, paperback or ebooks?
Reading or writing?
You can't do one without the other, in my opinion. So I'll say reading.
Typing on the computer or traditional writing on paper?
Description or dialogue? (which is easier for you)
Defnitely dialogue.
YA or adult books? (for reading)

Make sure to visit all the other stops of the tour, and keep your eye out for Notes to Self, which has already been released.

Notes to Self by Avery Sawyer
(Amazon | Goodreads)

Two climbed up. Two fell down.
One woke up.
In the aftermath of a traumatic brain injury, Robin Saunders has to relearn who she is and find out what happened the night everything changed.

  1. I just read the book blurb and it sounds like such a heart-breaking story, but the main character's journey is probably amazing. I like that there's a bit of mystery in there as well, along with the personal character growth. That cover is so eerie and touching. I like how it reflects the character's predicament.

I agree with Avery on quite a few things! Definitely sunset and summer, hopefully at the same time!

  2. those questions are so much fun. I think I might answer them in a post :D

  3. I've had this on my Goodreads to-read-shelf. But till now, I haven't had the chance to buy it! I've added it last year since the synopsis intrigues me. I wonder how Robin actually cope with her tragedy and whether she was successful in relearning her life. AND! The main character's name is of a guy's though she is a girl.  It's a bit funny.

I always enjoy your interviews, Hannah. It's enjoyable since you have a variation as to what your interview's format will be. As to this, it's this or that! I definitely agree with Avery as to some of her answers like indoors, living with mistakes, invisibility and YA!

  4. Thanks, but I can't take credit for that - the Teen Book Scene (they're the ones who organize the blog tours) decide what kind of interview I'll do, not me :)

  5. Ohh! I see. Then thanks to them! But are they the ones who think of the words itself or you?

  6. Oh, no, I do that part - they tell me I'm doing a this or that interview/regular author interview/character interview/etc., and I send in the questions or word pairings :)

  7. I agree about the cover, there is a mysterious/eerie feeling to it.  And yet I feel like I can relate, because I am a post-it note fanatic and constantly leave myself notes so I don't forget things.  I can't imagine starting from nothing though.  Looks like a good read!

  8. YA all the way! I'm an indoors person as well, I like camping but honestly the thought of no showers and toilets is only appealing for so long! Great blog tour post!
