Top Ten Tuesday #12: Favorite Quotes from Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish with a different topic for a top-ten list each week. You can find out more about it here.

The links will take you to my reviews.

This week's topic is:

Top Ten Favorite Quotes from Books
There comes a time when the world gets quiet and the only thing left is your own heart. So you'd better learn the sound of it. Otherwise you'll never understand what it's saying.
- Sarah Dessen (Just Listen)
Books are the ultimate Dumpees: put them down and they'll wait for you forever; pay attention to them and they'll always love you back.
- John Green (An Abundance of Katherines)
You can love someone so much. But you can never love them as much as you can miss them.
- John Green (Looking for Alaska)
Our story has three parts: a beginning, a middle, and and end. And although that is the way all stories unfold, I still can't believe that ours didn't go on forever.
- Nicholas Sparks (Dear John)
The reason it hurts so much to separate is because our souls are connected.
- Nicholas Sparks (A Walk to Remember)
If you gave someone thier heart and they died, did they take it with them? Do you spend the rest of forever with a hole inside you that can't be filled?
- Jodi Picoult (Nineteen Minutes)
"You don't have to love someone to have sex with them."
"I know," I say, trying to act like I'm not embarrassed for thinking love and sex are the same thing. I know they're not but I want them to be close enough to at least brush each other as they pass.

 - Cath Crowley (Graffiti Moon)
Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together until all living humans read the book.
- John Green (The Fault in Our Stars)
True love is felonious. You take someone's breath away, you rob them of the ability to utter a single word. You steal a heart.
- Jodi Picoult (My Sister's Keeper)

These are some of my favorite quotes from books, but I could go on forever! What are some of your favorites?

  2. I absolutely love quotes. And your quotes, Hannah! They're so sad but definitely inspiring. I love some of them. Like John Green's - The Fault In Our Stars, I love this book so much than Looking for Alaska, Nicholas Sparks' - This guy is such a great romance author! I definitely love Dear John and A Walk to Remember, so heartbreaking. I love Sarah Dessen too! Just Listen is really great. Even if most of the quotes came from romantic books, their meaning is well beyond that.

  13. Oh you'll love it! It's very well written, there's a lot of depth, Isobel is a hilarious narrator struggling with a hereditary mental illness, and it's part ghost-story part thriller.

And if you like romance, you'll love the boy who falls in love with Isobel.

    It's a great read.

  16. I love those quotes and I've actually read over half of those books!! Another one of my favorites from A Walk to Remember is "“Love is like the wind, you can't see it but you can feel it.”  It's simple but it stuck with me.
