In My Mailbox #21

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren where you can talk about the books you bought or received this week.

So this week I got...

Nothing Like You by Lauren Strasnick
(Amazon / Goodreads)

When Holly loses her virginity to Paul, a guy she barely knows, she assumes their encounter is a one-night stand. After all, Paul is too popular to even be speaking to Holly...and he happens to have a long-term girlfriend, Saskia. But ever since Holly's mom died six months ago, Holly has been numb to the world, and she's getting desperate to feel something, anything—so when Paul keeps pursuing her, Holly relents. Paul's kisses are a welcome diversion...and it's nice to feel like the kind of girl that a guy like Paul would choose.
But things aren't so simple with Saskia around. Paul's real girlfriend is willowy and perfect... and nothing like Holly. To make matters worse, she and Holly are becoming friends. Suddenly the consequences of Holly's choices are all too real, and Holly stands to lose more than she ever realized she had.

The cover is georgous, and Nothing Like You sounds right up my alley!

Stupid Fast by Geoff Herbach
Fifteen-year-old Felton Reinstein has always been on the smallish side, but in his sophomore year he starts growing...and growing.
During gym one day he smokes the football jocks in a 600-yard race. Felton has never been interested in sports, but there's no doubt-he is "stupid fast." As he juggles his newfound athletic prowess, his mom's sudden depression, an annoying little brother, and his first love, he discovers a shocking secret about his past which explains why he's turning out the way he is.

When I first saw this book around, I dismissed it immediately because the cover made me think it was "just" about sports (and I'm not really interested in sports). But the description makes it sound like it's about more than only football, and I've heard it's hilarious!

Cruel Love by Kate Brian (Privilege #6)
(Amazon / Goodreads)

As this is part of the Privilege series and I don't want to spoil these for anyone, I'm posting the description for the first Privilege novel instead of this one's:

Most girls would die for a life of privilege... Some would even kill for it.
Ariana Osgood ruled exclusive Easton Academy -- until she was arrested for murdering Thomas Pearson. She's spent the past two years at the Brenda T. Trumbull Correctional Facility for Women plotting her escape and is determined to get a second chance at the glamorous life she left behind. And Ariana will do anything to get her way....
From the author of the bestselling Private novels comes a new series about the dark world of wealth, secrets, and Privilege.

I love the Private and Privilege books! They've gotten kind of unrealistics lately, but I still want to know how this series ends!

This has nothing to do with IMM, but I'm going to be gone next week (I'm leaving for a class trip to Prague tonight and am returning late next Friday), and I won't have access to a computer. I've scheduled three posts, but I'm not sure whether it worked becasue Blogger wasn't working properly.  Hopefully, you'll have those posts while I'm gone, otherwise I'll be back postng normally on Friday or Saturday!

Anyways, what was in your mailbox this week?

  12. I've been hearing wonderful things about Stupid Fast, hope you enjoy it! I hope to read it sometime this summer. I skipped over it at first too. I saw the cover and that the main character was male and totally wrote it off. Then I saw the book again on a few blogs and now I can't wait to read it.

    Happy reading :)
