After reading the final page I thought there had to be more, some kind if twist, because I already knew that was going to happen and was left feeling dramatically underwhelmed. The conclusion was my problem with Requiem as well, as I didn't find it to be powerful enough, but Lauren Oliver's gorgeous writing really does make it much better. Her lines beg to be read aloud, their echoing beauty broadcasted throughout the room, which is the perfect kind of prose. Julian is so naive and pure and he is symbolized like a lost puppy, and the reader wants to feel bad for him, but Alex was the one who introduced love to Lena in the first place. I don't know what Alex is going to do, and if he forgives Lena, will Lena go back to him or feel ashamed?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01843561957939071958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4294396274737254126.post-88784874231384357162013-07-14T17:50:50.345+02:002013-07-14T17:50:50.345+02:00People seem to have really mixed reactions to Requ...People seem to have really mixed reactions to Requiem so I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to say.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13958940283330319507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4294396274737254126.post-78218148200095709452013-07-14T17:37:42.486+02:002013-07-14T17:37:42.486+02:00I really liked this novel, and though I did see th...I really liked this novel, and though I did see the ending coming, I still screamed! I totally get what you mean, Hannah, when you talk about life getting in the way of reading the books you REALLY want to read. I have Requiem sitting on my shelf and I still haven't picked it up! I hope to soon though! Glad you liked this one, despite some things, and I hope you love Requiem. :) Lovely review, Hannah!Sophiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02678009807863670317noreply@blogger.com
